The Altar Society provides volunteers a perfect opportunity for quiet reflection and meditation in the Cathedral while performing a valuable service.

The Society meets every Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 10:00 a.m.  Altar Society members, usually working in pairs, clean the altar, change altar linens, polish sacred vessels, clean the baptismal font and change candles as needed.  Extra care and servicing is done during the major holidays such as Christmas and Easter. Floral arrangement work is minimal. During the year the Altar Society distributes blessed candles for home use. Participants include married couples and singles, and each member is assigned to a working team that works on a rotating schedule.
